Description of the performance / Activity:

The EASIER project, of the Human Language and Accessibility Technologies Group (HULAT), of the Computer Science department of the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), aims to develop a solution that improves accessibility to digital information, favoring access for people with disabilities. intellectual disability.
For the lexical simplification of the textual content in Spanish, the accessibility guidelines (WCAG) relating to language will be taken into account following legislation in Spain, as well as the Easy Reading guidelines (UNE 153101: Easy Reading. Guidelines and recommendations for the preparation of documents ) and Plain Language Guidelines. As a solution space, methods from disciplines that can support the systematic fulfillment of these cognitive accessibility requirements will be used, such as the discipline of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence.
