Summary:

This publication presents a new diagnosis about the current state of accessibility in the areas of municipal jurisdiction and ownership in our country, showing the evolution experienced since 2011 until now based on the results of that first study, which is taken as starting point. It also responds to a regulatory requirement of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013, of November 29, which approves the Revised Text of the General Law on the rights of people with disabilities and their social inclusion, which contemplates, in its article 25, that the Government must carry out comprehensive studies on the accessibility of urbanized public spaces and buildings, in what is considered most relevant from the point of view of non-discrimination and universal accessibility.
