Summary:

According to the Observatory’s conclusions, access is the first failed link in the chain of accessibility in Spanish homes, since only two out of every hundred meet the criteria established by the regulations. Likewise, deficiencies are identified in elements such as the elevator, garages and parking areas, as well as common use areas, with the home itself being the most accessible space of all the elements analyzed. The study also indicates that Spanish society tends to link the concept of accessibility with specific needs of people with physical disabilities and older people, and always linked to ambulation difficulties although, on the other hand, an increase in demand is perceived. of certain elements especially linked to comfort and ease of use for all people.
