Summary:
The smart city is seen as a new model of modernization and improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by information and communications technologies (ICT). This document proposes a reflection on how to respond to the needs of older people and people with functional diversity in this new city model. Some initiatives included in national, European and international networks, technical standardization activities, forums and workshops are described. The final annexes provide checklists and indicator systems that help design and evaluate the management of plans, projects and actions in this area.
