Summary:
This manual, prepared by the General Directorate of Accessibility of the Works and Equipment Area of the Madrid City Council, compiles guidelines on accessibility to act on the city’s public space. With the aim of homogenizing the different measures included in the different existing regulations on this matter, it carries out a transversal reading of the state and regional regulations. It is a practical tool that aims to facilitate the work of project writers and those responsible for their supervision, providing a series of technical sheets, graphic documentation, as well as examples of good practices.
This 2022 version of the manual is an update of the 2016 version (ref. 521391). The main reason for this update is the entry into force of Order TMA/851/2021, of July 23, which develops the technical document of basic conditions of accessibility and non-discrimination for access and use of spaces. urbanized public. This completely replaces in October 2022 the until then current Order VIV/561/2010, of February 1, which develops the technical document of basic conditions of accessibility and non-discrimination for the access and use of urbanized public spaces. . This regulatory modification affected both texts, graphics and sheets of the 2016 version of the document.
