This document specifies a range of functional accessibility and usability requirements and recommendations for many of the construction elements, assembly, interior configuration, components and accessories, which make up the built environment. These functional accessibility requirements refer to the construction aspects of pedestrian and urban areas, the approach and access to buildings, internal circulation and the use of facilities within buildings, exit from buildings in normal situations and in evacuation in case of an emergency.
