Improvement obtained: “A policy that translates into a total of 399 people with disabilities hired, of which in 2017, 2.3% began their careers in the store network, reaching 3.2% at gas stations. Some figures to which we must add the network of alliances and collaborations that, for more than 15 years, it has developed through the signing of agreements with different organizations for this purpose, in addition to the integrative measures that it has developed through participation in different forums. and transversal projects, both with FSC Inserta, ONCE Foundation or different special employment centers. As a concrete action, the opening of one of the first accessible supermarkets in Spain stands out, with 77 centers accessible to sign language users. At the international level, his role in the International Labor Organization (ILO) in this matter is to be valued, holding in 2016 the presidency of the Steering Committee of the ILO Network of the Global Business and Disability Network.”

Description of the performance / Activity:

“Convened by the Royal Board of Trustees on Disability, the purpose of this award is to recognize the continued work of companies that have implemented, programmed and evaluated job placement policies for people with disabilities in their workforces.

Centros Comerciales Carrefour, S. A. has been chosen as the winner of the 2018 Queen Letizia Award for Promotion of the labor insertion of people with disabilities, which is convened every year by the Royal Board of Trustees on Disability.

With this award, the jury wanted to recognize the value of the measures adopted to promote a comprehensive policy to promote the employment of people with disabilities or at risk of social exclusion in their different business areas.”
